Little Island

Mopiri means ‘Little Island’ in the local Bayei language. The camp is surrounded by crystal clear Delta water on all sides.

Three spacious family units and seven luxury rooms set along the edge of the lagoon. All complete with king-size beds and large private decks.

Weboro Lagoon

Permanent lagoons close to Mopiri ensure that water activities are available all year round.

The private Mopiri airstrip is only a five-minute boat ride from camp so you can travel from Maun to Mopiri in under an hour.

The three family units are positioned on an island close by and adjoined by a walkway, allowing Mopiri to take children of all ages.

Mopiri Camp — True water Experience

Mopiri camp has been designed to make the most of the panoramic views of Weboro Lagoon. Long wooden boardwalks winding through the palms adjoin the main areas and the rooms, and give guests the opportunity to explore the area around camp. The tents are light and airy and all have en-suite bathrooms with large rain showers.

At Mopiri you set the pace. Days can be spent exploring the Delta, or simply kicking back and enjoying the tranquil surroundings of island life.

Mopiri Camp — Activities

Mopiri camp has been used as the launch site for numerous “National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project” Delta wetland bird surveys, as well as being used to undertake education workshops with teachers from local schools in community outreach programmes. Researchers are available to give talks on their work and the Okavango Delta for those that are interested. (Please book in advance). Read More >
